A graduate in Foreign Languages, civilization and Litteratures with a specialisation in Italian Arts, Cathie Brousse expresses herself through plastic arts and namely reflecting on “Being” as opposed to “Seeming” which are the leitmotiv of her artistic production.

Being and seeming, the recurring themes and the live wire of her production has developed into various works on a series of big canvases which express metaphorically speaking the reflection of inner hustles externalised.

This is done in a way connecting symbols, material effects and thrills.

In “Les chants de l’âme” (The Soul’s songs), her reflection on the «Self» led the artist to explore new working paths, particularly through turning into paintings some famous poets’ poems (Victor Hugo, Alphonse de Lamartine) which characterized French litterature of the XIXth century.

With her pictorial project, “Imprimatur Stampa” and “Myths and Narrations”, the artist still draws her inspirational reflection and her work from the heart of French litterature.

Her artistic research has been continued and developed in series of paintings such as “Monochrome limited” and “Reminiscences” which again express symbolically “the invisible life that we are”, like inner abstract landscapes in some way, which are a testimony of the duality between Beings and their quests to reach an existence that is their own and Beings as custodians of generational transmissions.

Cathie Brousse, a poster designer too has distinguished herself through the design of posters for reknowned events :

• “Look Beyond” (2017) Siège de la confindustria, Rome (IT) – an artwork achieved for the institutional meeting between the Republic of Madagascar and the Italian entrepreneurship – for a tribute to the artist Ben Vautier.

• “Take what you need” (2017) / Museum ARCA – Complexe monumental de Santa Maria La Nova, Napoli (IT) – artwork exhibited permanently at the museum, achieved on the special event of the XXIIth edition of the annual concert of Epiphany broadcasted on Rai Uno television.

• “Invisible sheet music” (2018) / National Music Park, Rome (IT) – achieved for the XIIIth edition of the Louis Braille Prize – a night event and concert broadcasted on Rai Due television. Permanent exhibition at the Head office of the National Italian Union for the Blind, Pisa (IT).

• “The leaves of hope” (2005) / Amphitheatre Flavio, Rome (IT) – an artwork achieved for the concert for peace on the 60th anniversary of the launching of the atomic bomb in Japan (In memory of the victims of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki).

Laureatasi in lingue, Storia e Letterature stranieri con specializazzione in Arti italiane, Cathie Brousse esprime, attraverso le tecniche pittoriche, una riflessione sull’Essere e l’Apparire che forma il leitmotiv della sua produzione artistica.

Tale tematica è stata espressa con un approccio che coniuga dimensione simbolica, effetti di materie e sensazioni forti in diversi lavori che esprimono metaforicamente le diverse manifestazioni esteriori, riflessi di un tumulto interiore.

Con Les Chants de l’âme, la sua riflessione sull’ «io» interiore ha condotto l’artista ad esplorare nuove strade, in particolare attraverso la trasposizione in pittura di testi di poesie di grandi autori (Victor Hugo, Alphonse de Lamartine) che hanno caratterizzato la letteratura francese del XIX secolo .

Con il progetto Imprimatur Stampa e Mythes et Narrations, l’artista attinge ancora a quella che è la sua fonte primaria di riflessione e di ispirazione : la letteratura.

La sua ricerca artistica è sfociata poi, nelle serie Monochrome limited, Réminiscences e Double ”je”, nelle quali l’artista esprime simbolicamente la ”vita invisibile che siamo”, paesaggi interiori che testimoniano la dualità dell’Essere in cerca di un’ esistenza propria e dell’Essere dopositario di valori generazionali.

Cathie Brousse si è anche distinta attraverso la realizzazione di manifesti in occasione di importanti eventi:

«Look Beyond» (2017) / Sede della Confindustria, Roma – opera/manifesto in occasione dell’incontro istituzionale tra il governo della Repubblica Malgascia e l’imprenditoria italiana (opera/manifesto omaggio all’artista Ben Vautier).

«Take what you need» (2017) / Museo ARCA – Complesso monumentale di Santa Maria La Nova, Napoli – opera permanente al museo, realizzata in occasione della XXII° edizione del Concerto dell’Epifania trasmesso dal teatro mediterraneo di Napoli da Rai Uno .

«Partition invisible» (2008) / Parco Nazionale della Musica, Roma – opera/manifesto realizzata in occasione della XIII° edizione del Premio Louis Braille, serata evento e concerto trasmesso da Rai Due. Opera permanente nella Sede dell’Unione Nazionale Italiana per ipovedenti, Pisa.

«Les feuilles de l’espoir» (2005) / Anfiteatro Flavio, Roma – opera/manifesto realizzata in occasione del Concerto per la Pace (in memoria delle vittime di Hiroshima e Nagasaki) per il 60° anniversario del lancio della bomba atomica in Giappone.

Diplômée en Langues, Civilisation et Littératures étrangères avec spécialisation en Arts italiens, Cathie Brousse s’exprime à travers les arts plastiques, notamment dans une réflexion sur l’être et le paraître qui forme le leitmotiv de sa production artistique.

Son thème récurrent de l’être et du paraître, fil conducteur de sa production, s’est décliné dans divers travaux qui, à travers une série de grandes toiles, expriment de façon métaphorique les diverses manifestations extérieures, reflets d’un tumulte intérieur, dans une approche alliant dimension symbolique, effets de matières et sensations fortes.

Dans ”Les chants de l’âme”, sa réflexion sur le «Moi» intérieur a conduit l’artiste à explorer de nouvelles pistes de travail, en particulier à travers la transposition en peinture de textes de poésie de grands auteurs (Victor Hugo, Alphonse de Lamartine) qui ont caractérisé la littérature française du XIX° siècle.

Avec son projet pictural ”Imprimatur Stampa” et ”Mythes et Narrations”, l’artiste puise encore sa source de réflexion et de travail au cœur de la littérature.

Sa recherche artistique s’est encore poursuivie et développée dans les séries ”Monochrome limited” et ”Réminiscences” qui expriment symboliquement la ”vie invisible que nous sommes”, paysages intérieurs abstraits en quelque sorte, qui témoignent de la dualité de l’Être en quête d’une existence qui lui est propre et l’Être dépositaire de transmissions générationnelles.

Egalement affichiste, Cathie Brousse s’est distinguée à travers la réalisation d’affiches lors d’événements importants :
